Welcome to Elite Cars. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of our taxi and private hire services, our website (elite-cars.co.uk), and any bookings made with us via phone, email, or online.

By booking a journey with Elite Cars, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. General

1.1 Elite Cars (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a licensed private hire operator. 1.2 Our registered email for all correspondence is info@elite-cars.co.uk. 1.3 We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. The version of the Terms in place at the time of your booking will apply.

2. Bookings

2.1 All bookings are subject to availability. 2.2 For Airport Transfers, passengers are responsible for providing the correct flight details and allowing sufficient travel time. We are not liable for missed flights due to traffic, weather, or incorrect information provided by the customer. 2.3 Vehicle Capacity: It is the customer’s responsibility to book a vehicle suitable for the number of passengers and amount of luggage. All children, regardless of age, count as one passenger. 2.4 We reserve the right to refuse a booking if we believe it may result in a safety risk or if a suitable vehicle is not available.

3. Pricing & Payment

3.1 Fares are based on the journey details provided at the time of booking. Any changes (extra stops, change of destination) will result in a price adjustment. 3.2 Waiting Time:

  • General Pickups: 5-10 minutes of free waiting time is included. Thereafter, a waiting charge of £.5 per minute may apply.

  • Airport Pickups: We offer 5-10 minutes of free waiting time from the flight’s actual arrival. Charges apply thereafter. 3.3 Additional Charges: Parking fees, toll charges, and congestion charges are not included in the initial quote unless stated otherwise. 3.4 Payments can be made via cash (to the driver) or via our secure online payment system/card machine.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

4.1 Cancellations must be made via phone or email (info@elite-cars.co.uk). 4.2 Cancellation Fees:

  • More than 24 hours notice: Full refund (if pre-paid).

  • Less than 4 hours notice: We reserve the right to charge 100% of the fare. 4.3 If the vehicle has already been dispatched to the pickup point, no refund will be issued.

5. Passenger Conduct & Liability

5.1 We operate a Strict No Smoking policy in all our vehicles (including e-cigarettes). 5.2 The consumption of food and drink is prohibited unless permitted by the driver. 5.3 Soiling Charge: A minimum charge of £70.00 will be applied to any passenger who soils the vehicle to cover professional cleaning and loss of earnings. 5.4 We reserve the right to refuse carriage to any person who is thought to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and whose behaviour poses a threat to the driver, the vehicle, or other passengers.

6. Lost Property

6.1 Elite Cars is not responsible for any property left in the vehicle. 6.2 If you believe you have left an item behind, please contact us immediately at info@elite-cars.co.uk. Any found items can be collected from our office or returned via a booked (paid) delivery.

7. Limitations of Liability

7.1 While we strive to ensure our drivers are punctual, we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g., road accidents, extreme weather, mechanical failure, or police instructions). 7.2 Our liability is limited to the cost of the journey booked. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses (e.g., loss of profits or missed events).

8. Data Protection (GDPR)

8.1 We only collect the personal data necessary to process your booking (Name, Phone, Email, Pickup/Drop-off details). 8.2 Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR regulations. We do not share your details with third parties for marketing purposes.

9. Complaints

9.1 We aim to provide the highest level of service. If you are unsatisfied, please email us at info@elite-cars.co.uk within 7 days of your journey. 9.2 As a Reading-based operator, we are governed by the licensing regulations of Reading Borough Council.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
